Chaat, pakodi, Tikki, be it anything, street-style food is everyone's guilty pleasure. And if you get to eat this during the winter season, “toh majja ni life”. India is one such country where Street Style Food is loved by one and all. The moment you think about it your mouth starts watering. Street style food is basically local food that connects people to their roots. Every street in India has its own flavor of Street style food. So here I bring to you one such chatpaati lip-smacking recipe.
Aloo Tikki Masala Quesadillas:
Ingredients:
Aloo(potato) – 500gms
Chana Dal(Bengal gram) – 1/2cup
Onion - 2 medium (finely chopped)
Coriander – 1/2cup(chopped)
Green chili – 2-3(chopped)
Ginger – 1tsp(chopped)
Red chili powder – 11/2tsp
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Garam masala – 1tsp
Chaat masala – 1tbsp
Juice of ½ lemon
Oil – 4tbsp
Butter – 2tbsp
Salt – according to taste
Atta/Maida Kulcha/flatbread – as per requirement
How To Make Filling:
1. Boil, cool, and mash the potatoes.
2. Par boil Chana Dal (to be boiled 80% only) and strain it.
3. In a wok/kadhai heat oil.
4. Add chopped onions and saute for 2-3 minutes.
5. Now add ginger, green chili, saute it for a minute.
6. Add strained chana dal to it and saute for 2-3 minutes.
7. Add mashed potatoes and some butter to it.
8. Now add all spices and saute them for few more minutes till all spices are mixed well.
9. Lastly add coriander and lemon juice, mix well.
How To Make Quesadillas:
1. Take 2 kulcha/flatbread and apply little butter on each.
2. Place a generous filling on one of the kulcha/flatbread and cover it with the other kulcha/flatbread.
3. On a hot skillet apply little butter and roast the kulcha/flatbread on both sides till crisp.
4. Cut it in the desired shape.
5. Serve hot with green chutney and tamarind/imli chutney.

Some Pro Tips:
1. Do not over boil chana dal otherwise it will become mushy.
2. Adjust spices according to your taste.
