Pumpkin Puree

Hi Chefs!


Through this recipe, you will be learning how to make Pumpkin Puree. Pumpkin Puree is an extremely versatile ingredient. It can be used in various recipes of cakes, breads, puddings, curries, soups, etc. It has a decently long shelf life as well when refrigerated well. It can be refrigerated for up to 4-5 days and can be kept in the freezer for up to 15 days. Read on further for a simple 10 step recipe for this interesting ingredient.


Recipe

Ingredients:


Raw pumpkin – 600-700gms (makes about 1cup of puree)


How To Make Pumpkin Puree:


1. Wash, scrape the seeds and peel off the skin from Pumpkin.

2. Roughly cut it into cubes.



3. Add water to the steamer.

4. When water starts boiling, brush oil on the surface and add the cut pumpkins to it.

5. Put your flame to low-medium and close the lid.

6. Let them steam for 20-25minutes.

7. After 20-25 minutes, check the tenderness of the pumpkin cubes by inserting a fork. If it is soft/tender, it is done.



8. Let it completely cool down.

9. Now blend it into a paste.



10. It is ready to be used.
